CBRE has appointed Rishi Bhuchar as chief executive of its United Kingdom and Ireland advisory business.

Bhuchar is an investment banker who has served as co-head of the global real estate group at Jefferies since 2019. In addition to co-heading Jefferies’ global real estate group, Bhuchar leads the firm’s Europe, Middle East and Asia real estate, gaming and lodging practice.

He will join CBRE at year-end, succeeding Ciaran Bird, who CBRE previously announced will be stepping down as its UK and Ireland advisory leader. The advisory business includes high-profile brokerage assignments such as tenant and landlord representation as well as transaction management, mortgage services, property management, project management and strategic consulting.

“We are excited that Rishi will be joining CBRE,” said Vikram Kohli, CBRE’s chief executive of advisory services in a statement. “He is an exceptional leader who has a deep understanding of capital markets dynamics in the real estate sector. He is the perfect person to head our market-leading team in the UK and Ireland, sustaining our momentum and building on our strengths across the market.”

Prior to Jefferies, Bhuchar held senior positions at Deutsche Bank and MGPA.

Earlier this week CBRE appointed Marco Hekman as chairman, advisory services, Continental Europe and UK & Ireland, and said that the leader of CBRE’s UK and Ireland business would report to Hekman.

The world's largest brokerage announced that Ciaran Bird would be stepping down as its leader in UK and Ireland in April.
