Global real estate services firm Colliers has appointed Charlotte Ashton as its head of London leasing, CoStar News can reveal.

The appointment comes as Ashton returns from maternity leave, following a secondment at Derwent London.

She joined the London offices division of Toronto-based Colliers, a firm that also has business across North America, in 2019 from real estate services firm CBRE. Colliers said she has been instrumental in securing the team’s reputation as "one of the top three London market advisers, acting on in excess of 200 transactions" a year.

The global broker said Ashton was quickly identified as a potential leader in the business and participated in the company’s inaugural Real Estate And Leadership initiative for women in 2020. She was promoted to director in April 2022, and in 2023 undertook a secondment with listed London developer Derwent London as a leasing manager gaining landlord-side experience.

She returns to Colliers to lead the 11-strong London leasing team, a part of the London offices division including the London occupier team, led by Stuart Melrose, and London capital markets, led by Simon Glenn, who also heads the division.

Glenn said in a statement: “We’re pleased to be welcoming Charlotte back into this new role. She has a great drive and energy about her which is crucial for operating in the ever-changing market of London offices. We’re looking forward to harnessing her insights from her secondment in order to support our landlord clients as they look to attract long-term occupiers.”

Ashton added: “The team has a great reputation in the market and I’m looking forward to working with our clients to achieve their ambitions and secure long-term value for their office assets.

“Colliers has always shown its forward-thinking attitude towards working mums and as I return with this new title at home and in the office, I know I can count on my team and the wider Colliers business for support navigating this next chapter successfully.”
