Transwestern names top director for Houston

Transwestern Real Estate Services, or TRS, appointed Clint Bawcom as executive managing director and Houston market leader to spearhead operations for the region. In his new role, Bawcom will oversee an office that has more than 400 professionals and a portfolio of 82 million square feet of leased and managed commercial space, TRS said. The 25-year industry veteran most recently served as managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Houston operations, and he earlier held senior leadership roles at Brookfield Properties and Cassidy Turley.
As for Kevin Roberts, who has been with the firm for 36 years and served as Houston market leader for 15 years, he will transition to the role of executive vice president of strategic client relationships, TRS said. Roberts will focus on new business development, portfolio management, mergers and acquisitions, and related client services, according to Transwestern.
HKS hire to grow Western business
Global design firm HKS hired industry veteran Mitra Memari to serve as regional director for community in its Americas West region. The company said Memari, who's based in Los Angeles, will lead growth and coordination efforts for HKS’ health, education and life science practices. She is also expected to work with regional leaders on talent-related functions and corporate partnerships across the western United States, HKS said.
HKS said the newly created leadership role is part of a regional-focused alignment designed to increase the firm's engagement in civic, education and community-based design projects and expand its presence across the West. Memari served in prior leadership roles with ZGF Architects and the American Institute of Architects in Los Angeles.
Pegasus expands Los Angeles management team
Real estate services provider Pegasus appointed George Azzi as an executive vice president as the Los Angeles-based company seeks to bolster its regional management. Azzi served most recently as regional manager in the Los Angeles office of Marcus & Millichap. At Pegasus, he will lead advisory business growth and oversee recruitment and staff development, the firm said, as it expands service line offerings and broadens its property category coverage.
Pegasus also said Bahram Fattahinia joined the firm as director of marketing. Fattahinia brings 15 years of industry experience, including a tenure with the property investment and development firm, Irvine Company. Daniel Kim also joined Pegasus, having been appointed senior associate of finance and strategy. Kim will handle financial planning, data analytics and related operations, Pegasus said. He previously worked at Abbey Co., Tahoma Capital Partners and FD Stonewater.
Caliber appoints chief operating officer

Investment and development firm Caliber promoted Greg James to chief operating officer. The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company said James, who previously served as its COO and head of the firm’s hotel asset management division, succeeded Ignacio Martinez.
In his new role, James will oversee operations across multiple property categories, including acquisitions, development and management, Caliber said. He previously ran Caliber’s hotel investment portfolio of more than 100 properties valued at a combined $3.5 billion. Caliber’s nationwide management portfolio includes hospitality, multifamily and industrial properties.
The 34-year industry veteran previously worked for nearly two decades at Summit Hotel Properties, where he served as senior vice president of operations. He began his career in 1991 at Marriott International.
Dominium promotes executive to partner status

Affordable housing developer and manager Dominium elevated T.J. McElroy to partner status in its Dallas office. The Minneapolis-based firm said McElroy also serves as senior vice president of capital markets and will continue to secure financing across the company’s property portfolio. McElroy leads Dominium’s debt and equity services. He previously spearheaded the formation of a new business platform, Dominium Fund Management, that focuses on investments in tax-exempt multifamily housing securities and related affordable housing credit assets.
McElroy began his career as a Dominium intern in 2012 and became a full-time associate in 2013, before spending seven years at Castlelake, a global private investment firm. He rejoined Dominium in 2021 as vice president of capital markets.
