Houston's Employment Base Continues To Recover

The Bayou City Added Nearly 90% of the Jobs Lost During the Pandemic Back

Like many U.S. cities, Houston continues to work its way out of the historical job losses experienced during the pandemic. As of December 2021, Houston had recouped nearly 90% of the jobs lost during the pandemic; the region added back nearly 320,000 jobs, although employment remained about 45,000 jobs below February 2020 levels.
