Austin, Texas' multifamily rent growth recovery slows amid record supply

Rent growth dips in fourth quarter of 2024

Given an unprecedented number of completed units in 2024, multifamily owners in Austin, Texas, have reduced average asking rents by 4.7% over the past year. Although rent growth improved slightly from its low point of negative 4.9%, it remains the weakest among the 50 largest multifamily markets in the U.S.
