It's rare to see a takeover dossier submitted to the commercial court provoke so much enthusiasm in the memory of a receivership administrator! It's true that the company in question, Hôtels de Paris (Machefert Group), in receivership since April 2024 with its 19 establishments and around 300 employees, boasts a 5-star property in Saint-Tropez (the Kube) and a host of 4-star properties in Paris. And their value - including restaurants, bars and spas - is estimated at over €500 million (in June 2023). Nineteen hotels in all, all located in Paris - apart from the Kube Saint-Tropez and the Murano in Marrakech - owned either wholly (5) or in part, either leased (2) or rented (5). The total would undoubtedly be worth a great deal more were it not for the major refurbishment work required for most of them.
