Real estate’s Property Cup raises more than £7,000
A cheque for £7,046 was handed to Lady Stephanie Moore OBE, the founder of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, in a ceremony at Wembley Stadium this month after real estate professionals took part in a 14-team charity football tournament. LSH beat Colliers in a penalty shoot-out in May to clinch the trophy, with the annual event raising over £55,000 across the decade it has run. Jon Rea-Palmer, LSH head of M4 Corridor and principal organiser of the cup, said: "We are grateful to all our colleagues in real estate and our partners for their generous charity-giving and participation. The Property Cup was a tremendous success and we are already looking forward eagerly to 2025."
Colliers appoints strategic partnership director in rating
Colliers’ rating team has appointed Caroline Pooley as strategic partnership director, who will be based in Birmingham. Pooley will focus on "expanding the corporate client portfolio, strengthening existing relationships and ensuring high-quality service across regional bases". Her role also includes helping clients maximise business rates savings and connecting them with the broader Colliers’ UK and Europe, Middle East and Africa business. She most recently held the position of head of commercial at the West Midlands Growth Company. Colliers said Pooley has more than 20 years of business development experience across London and the Midlands, including roles at Avison Young.
Cluttons hires two partners in the North
Real assets advisor Cluttons has hired two partners as part of efforts to grow its business in the regions. Chris Weights joins the commercial valuation team in the North to expand the firm's coverage in the North East and North West. Weights has worked in the sector for 25 years and was previously head of valuation at LHV Bank. Nick Gregory joins the firm's project management team in Manchester as it continues to grow its project and building consultancy arm. Cluttons said that Gregory specialised in delivering large-scale projects in areas such as higher education, residential joint ventures and operational living sectors.
CBRE appoints UK retail investment and occupier leads
CBRE has announced two promotions to its retail leadership team. George Pelling will lead CBRE’s retail investment properties business and be responsible for driving growth. Pelling has worked there for more than 12 years and has become a market leader in the area, the group said. Tim Denny will lead its retail occupier business. The agency said he will "enhance its strategic partnerships and drive collaboration to deliver an integrated, end-to-end service to clients". Both have joined CBRE's retail markets board and take up their new roles with immediate effect. The appointments come after Graham Barr was hired to lead the management of its UK retail markets team. He will manage the pair.
Knight Frank expands industrial team in Cardiff
Rhys Price has joined Knight Frank's logistics and industrial team in Cardiff with the objective of helping the agency to increase its market share in the region. Price becomes an associate partner, joining after eight years at Cooke & Arkwright, and will work alongside partner Neil Francis and surveyor Emily Wilson-Davies. Knight Frank said he was an integral part of his former employer's business space team, specialising in the industrial market in South Wales. Francis, head of the logistics and industrial team in Cardiff, said: "We have enjoyed a number of years of continued growth in our sector and Rhys’ arrival will strengthen our team and enable us to expand our agency and lease advisory offering."
Belcor hires well-known Shoreditch agent
Belcor, the City fringe adviser, has hired Lucy Stephens as director. Stephens has over 26 years’ experience working in the City fringe commercial market, starting off at a niche commercial agency in Smithfield in the late 1990s. She has worked closely with landlords on asset management, leasing and development strategies, alongside assisting tenants with acquiring new premises. Belcor said she has a "true passion for architecture and the property market". Oliver Cohen, partner at Belcor, added: "She is a true Shoreditch legend and has an excellent reputation of over two decades of transacting across the City Fringe. Lucy forms a key part of our growth plans."
