Oklahoma City’s Retail Rent Hits Ceiling

As Availability of Quality Space Diminishes, Tenants Opting To Renew Their Existing Leases

In Oklahoma City, retail rent is close to its all-time high of an average $16.60 per square foot. Compared to this time five years ago, rents have increased by around 13.5%, a significant gain over a relatively short time. Compressing this timeline even further is that most of these gains occurred before the end of 2022, after which rent growth hit a ceiling and outside economic pressures mounted to keep further escalations at bay.
