Indianapolis renters continue to prefer upscale apartments

Four- and five-star units garner majority of renter demand this year

Luxury apartments in Indianapolis continued to attract more renters this year than other apartment subtypes, with absorption, or the change in the number of occupied units, among this segment representing 77% of the area's total. Consumers were undeterred by heightened inflation at the relatively higher-priced four- and five-star communities, which have average rents of $1,570 per month.
