CoStar interview: Aviva’s new head of ESG Real Assets on why responsible investment makes a difference

Ed Dixon became head of ESG for Aviva Investors' Real Assets platform in September last year and since then he has been focusing his efforts on creating consistency in the integration of ESG across different real asset classes, including real estate equity and debt. The task is challenging but he has already embarked on similar projects – in his over 17 years of industry experience, he led the integration of Landsec's sustainability strategy through a £3.6bn development pipeline. Beyond integration, Dixon is working to set “ambitious” ESG targets for the £45bn Real Assets platform to make sure Aviva is “actually enacting change” in what it does, he notes. Costar News catches up with Dixon to discuss his achievements after six months in the job and his plans for the future.
