Salt Lake City continues to post healthy job growth, as it has for most of this cycle, with annual gains averaging about 3% from 2012 to 2018. According to preliminary numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Salt Lake’s year-over-year employment growth in September was 2.4%, compared to the national rate of 1.4%. While employment growth has slowed a bit from the strong rates seen earlier this cycle, gains continue to outpace the national index.
