Double-Digit Rate Growth Coincides With Regulations on Short-Term Rentals, Increase in Cruise Passengers

In May, Vancouver achieved the highest average hotel occupancy among major Canadian markets, increasing 0.9 percentage points to 83.8%, nearly 15 percentage points ahead of the national average. Strong occupancy in Vancouver allowed hoteliers to achieve double-digit increases in the average daily rate or ADR to reach $317. This was considerably higher than the national uplift and the only primary market to achieve a rate over $300.
