On 31 July 2024, the new Labour government launched its most ambitious housebuilding programme since the post-war period, aiming to create a new generation of towns to drive economic growth and provide much-needed affordable housing. This initiative aims to see the development of large-scale communities, each comprising at least 10,000 homes, with the potential to deliver hundreds of thousands of high-quality, affordable residences.
