During the fourth quarter of 2021, asking rents for apartments for the entire Houston area grew by an average of 9.5% year over year, an all-time high for the region thanks to record levels of demand. Suburban areas such as Cinco Ranch, Pearland and The Woodlands posted some of the strongest rent gains, each well in the double-digit mark during this period.
