The parent company of Chuck E Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza restaurant chains started paying rent to some landlords of its more than 500 U.S. and Canadian locations, while other owners told a bankruptcy court they have been "left in the dark," a sign of the struggles facing eateries nationwide during the pandemic.
