Tampa Job Growth Slows, but Region Remains a Leader in the Sunshine State for Employment Gains

Unemployment Rate Ticks Above 3.5% for First Time Since Late 2021

Tampa’s employment market continues to stagnate as its annual job growth rate slowed to just 1.5% as of June, according to the Florida Department of Commerce, Bureau of Workforce Statistical and Economic Research. In addition, the region’s unemployment rate increased by 60 basis points to 3.6%, slightly above Florida’s unemployment rate of 3.5%.
