Fisher German Re-Elects Managing Partner

Property consultancy Fisher German has re-elected its managing partner, Andrew Bridge, for a third term, after overseeing its growth to a record size. Bridge was unanimously voted to stay on as managing partner at Fisher German by his fellow partners until at least April 2028, having first been elected in 2019. His re-election follows Fisher German’s merger with the former Matthews & Goodman in 2022, and the opening of a major new office in Birmingham in late 2023, which has made Fisher German a firm of 800 employees.

Savills Recruits Former Rugby Pro into Debt Team

Savills has recruited former London Irish rugby professional Thomas Stephenson as an associate director in its debt advisory team. Stephenson, who has also played for Northampton Saints in the English Premiership, joins the group's operational capital markets division, which sits in Savills Capital Advisors. SCA advises clients in across the residential, hotels and self storage sectors. Stephenson arrives from boutique real estate advisory business RockCap, where he was a director for a year, according to his LinkedIn page.

Property Services Group Hires Technology Chief

Sophia Swain has joined Leaders Romans Group as the property services firm’s first chief technology officer, working out of its Wokingham head office. Swain previously worked as head of digital delivery at professional services specialist LRQA, managing its IT system transition. LRG has said she will oversee several large projects, helping to increase efficiencies through technology and enhancing customer service. The company added that the appointment reflected its “continued prioritisation of digital communication".

Bridge Industrial Hires Former CBRE IM Fund Manager

Bridge Industrial, the privately-owned real estate investment management firm, has appointed Charles Baigler to lead its pan-European operations. He joins from Pictet Alternative Advisers, part of the Pictet Group, where he worked for five years as head of direct real estate, managing the firm’s pan-European private equity real estate funds. Prior to this, he founded CBRE Investment Management’s flagship value-add fund series Europe Value Partners, establishing, raising, and deploying two pan-European real estate funds.

Change at the Top at Industrial Developer PLP

PLP's chief executive officer Jeremy Greenland has stepped down to pursue new opportunities outside of the company, leaving after seven years. Greenland oversaw the group's development of more than nine million square feet of logistics with a gross development value in excess of £1.3 billion. The PLP board of directors has appointed Neil Dickinson, chief investment officer, to lead the business going forward. He joined as CIO in 2016 following PLP’s merger with Evander Properties and has 28 years’ experience in the sector.

Orchard Street Raids GPE for ESG Lead

Orchard Street, the specialist commercial property investment manager, has recruited Kathryn Barber as head of responsibility and environmental, social and corporate governance. The firm said Barber, who moves across from GPE and replaces Lora Brill, will be "integral to building on [its] strong credentials as a responsible investor". Barber was sustainability lead in the portfolio and social impact team at GPE, formerly Great Portland Estatewhere she co-delivered the company’s roadmap to net zero at portfolio level. She has also worked for Intu Properties, Prudential and Hammerson, amounting to 10 years of real estate experience.

Flex Space Tech Experts Hire TOG's Former Sales Boss

Technologywithin, the flexible workspace technology specialist, has recruited Florian Kappes as its director for Europe. Kappes, who has worked for The Instant Group and Fora (The Office Group) over the past 15 years, will lead the company’s expansion into mainland Europe, with a focus on Germany and the Netherlands. The company said the recruit had "gain valuable experience" of the flex sector over the year, giving him "almost unparalleled insight into the German market, in terms of what providers need to offer to attract and retain clients".
